XXS.i.L.e.N.t.S.o.N.g.XX Chapter 1: Silent Night Silentsong.... My eyelids fluttered like a leaf in a summer breeze but they did not open. Sleep still had me wrapped in its paws, following my dream of chasing my brothers and sisters through the forest. My paws worked furiously as I became a white and grey blur in the night, my eyes wide with glee. Silentsong... The voice came again, more persistant this time and louder than ever. "Come on Silentkit!" Bramblekit squeeled, waving caramel tail towards me. "Don't be such a lazy kittypet!" a silver paw poked my shoulder as my sister Whisperkit giggled at me. "I'm not a lazy kittypet!" I squeaked. "Nah, she's just scared!" teased Poppykit, her emerald colored eyes dancing. "Am not!" I protested, preparing to spring but... Silentsong!I opened my eyes, darkness was flooding my den which looked just as it always had. Who was calling me?

"Silentsong!"
Fallingstar padded toward the Medicine cat den. A warm gust of air blew through her whiskers, making them dance back and forth. Nosing aside the trailing moss covering the den, Fallingstar called again.
"Silentsong!"
Her call echoed in the dark den. Sniffing the air, Fallingstar scented the aroma of countless herbs. The smells filled her nose and the sudden blast of scents made Fallingstar light headed. Shaking her head, as if to clear it, Fallingstar crept further into the den.
"Silentsong?" She called again. Her call was softer then before, yet it still echoed in the den. "Are you here?"

Silentsong Chapter 1: Silent Night "Silentsong!" There it was again...I raised my head, feeling the scent of another cat wafting into my nostrils. My eyes glowed in the darkness, shifting through the sights and searching for the cat who called to me. They fell on Fallingstar, who stood sillouetted in the entrance, her fur barely outlined by the sparse light from the silver moon.
"Fallingstar." I murmured, shaking the moss out of my pelt, feeling the cool den floor under my small paws. "What is it?" I asked, trying to shake away the dream of my siblings. It was no good to dwell on the past when things needed to be done.

"What is it?"
Fallingstar blinked in the darkness. She could make out the faint outline of Silentsong. What was she doing were? Shaking head as if to clear it, Fallingstar glanced at the ground.
"I-I don't know." What had compelled her to walk into the Medicine cat den in the middle of the night? Everything had been fine in the clan lately. Green-leaf was being kind to them, their freshkill pile was always full. There were no sick cats in the clan. So what was bothering her?
The Clan Leader sat, and began to lick a paw pensively. She was in deep thought. One of her paws dragged slowly over her whiskers. Flipping her head over her shoulder, Fallingstar began to lick her back. Her tongue skimmed over her fur, making a soft scraping noise. Suddenly, she paused. Turning her head back to Silentsong, and she asked; "Have you had any word from StarClan lately?"

XXS.i.L.e.N.t.S.o.N.g.XX Chapter 1: Silent Night I flinched at her words, the echoes of an ancient prophecy returning to my ears. Indeed I had heard from StarClan, two different messages but one of them terrified me. I had seen the reflection of myself in the deep waters of the river, and kits were playing around me. I knew them at once, they were my brothers and sisters; those whom had left this world too early. I saw the words written in the message, The bonds of family and kin must always be important to the clan. Then the scene had changed to show a tom cat I knew only too well. He was the leader of one of the other clans, and for some reason my warning from StarClan. I had heard my mother telling me to follow my heart wherever it may lead, before the scene had dissappeared into nothingness.
But there was another message I had recieved, lesser in tone. It came to me in a dream, the flash of a maple leaf as it fell towards the ground. I was a kit in this dream, and so I was shocked when I came face to face with none other than Windkit. The Little She-kit's voice was not her own as she told me that the bonds of clan can sometimes not be as strong as the bonds of kin.
"Yes, I have." I mewed quietly, hesitantly I told her of my visions.

"Yes, I have." I mewed quietly, hesitantly I told her of my visions.
Fallingstar's vision clouded. What could it all mean? "Can you make anything of it?" Fallingstar murmured. A fresh night breeze brought the scents of the green-leaf fresh forest into the medicine cat den. The stuffy air that filled the den was given a new gust of momentary life. Then the stuffy and cramped feeling entered the den once more, fresh scents faded.
Suddenly, Fallingstar felt the urge to be under her ancestors' watchful gaze. "Will you join me?" Fallingstar mewed. She motioned to the entrance of the medicine cat den with a flick of her tail, signaling she wished to step outside.
